I Have the ANSWERS...
And so do you!
I’m Mocha Moizelle and I’ve been on my path to full spiritual alignment for over 7 years. This year, everything came full circle and finally “clicked” on exactly who I am, my purpose on this earth and my personal pathway towards full liberation.
For most of us, “manifesting” or having our desires come into our existence requires much more than what’s shown to us on the surface level. With Black people having such a tumultuous experience, much of the spiritual and manifesting information misses the mark – leaving us to grasp on to any spiritual concept presented to us. Does it work for some? Sure! But we don’t have to do this. Many of us are left living our lives in worry and wonder, unnecessarily!
In my efforts to share and teach what I’ve been experiencing, studying and researching since 2017, I created Manifesting and Healing for Black People – an online learning platform that educates on ancestral spiritual sciences, combined with universal laws and their interpretations through spiritual text as we know it today. My hope is to help Black People around the world decolonize both our spirituality and existence to simplify the spiritual process. When you start grasping the concepts and getting on your aligned path, you’ll see how easy it is to free yourself and change your life!
Ancestral Elements
Ancestral veneration is the practice of honoring and communicating with our ancestors. This tradition, prevalent in many African cultures, acknowledges the ongoing relationship between the living and the deceased. Our ancestors provide guidance, protection, and wisdom. By engaging in ancestral practices, such as offering prayers, rituals, and libations, we tap into the spiritual support of those who came before us.
Before colonialism and slavery disrupted these practices, Black people had a profound connection to nature and the spiritual realm. Ancestral wisdom was passed down through generations, ensuring that the knowledge of herbalism, healing, and spiritual practices remained intact. Reconnecting with these ancestral roots helps us to reclaim our identity, heal generational trauma, and harness the spiritual gifts that have been stripped away.
Biblical Elements
Biblical teachings, when interpreted beyond the confines of traditional doctrine, offer profound insights into spiritual laws and principles.
The Bible is rich with metaphors and parables that illustrate the power of faith, love, and divine connection. For example, the concept of “faith as small as a mustard seed” demonstrates the potential to move mountains when we align our intentions with divine will.
Understanding the deeper meanings within biblical texts can provide a spiritual roadmap for manifesting our desires and achieving a state of divine consciousness. This perspective helps to demystify religious teachings and shows how they can be practically applied to create positive change in our lives.
Spiritual Elements
Spirituality encompasses a broad spectrum of practices and beliefs that connect us to the divine and the universe. For Black people, spirituality is a means of reclaiming our inherent connection to the earth and the cosmos. Practices such as meditation, prayer, and energy healing enable us to align with higher frequencies and access states of peace, clarity, and empowerment.
Decolonizing spirituality involves shedding the layers of colonial influence that have painted traditional African spiritual practices as demonic or inferior. Embracing practices like Hoodoo, Vodou, and other African-derived spiritual systems allows us to reclaim our spiritual sovereignty and reconnect with the sacred traditions of our ancestors.
Metaphysical Elements
Metaphysics explores the nature of reality beyond the physical world. It delves into the principles of energy, consciousness, and universal laws. Quantum physics, a branch of metaphysics, reveals that everything in the universe is interconnected through a web of energy. Understanding this interconnectedness helps us to see how our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs shape our reality.
The Law of Attraction, a fundamental principle in metaphysics, states that like attracts like. By focusing on positive thoughts and emotions, we attract positive experiences into our lives. This understanding empowers us to be conscious creators of our reality, using our intentions to manifest our desires and align with our highest potential.
Meditation and manifesting techniques are cool, but I want to challenge you to go wayyy deeper! We're in a new era, and the time is now to cut through the fluff and tap into your source!

WHY DO WE NEED TO COLLECTIVELY UNDERSTAND PRE-COLONIAL SPIRITUAL PRACTICES?
You don't know what you don't know
Slavery and colonialism have deeply impacted Black people on a soul and conscientious level, causing spiritual and psychological wounds. Reconnecting with ourselves and our lineage is a transformative process that can un-do much of the long-term effects of oppression.
RECLAIMING YOUR SPIRITUAL BIRTHRIGHT
Many African and Black spiritual practices remain demonized and vilified and very much so on purpose. So much power lies within our genetics that some of us may never reach because of social programming and fear of displaying interest in such topics. Much of our authenticity lies on the other side of it.
TAPPING INTO YOUR SUPER POWERS
In today's age, we associate “power” with “playing the game” and getting as much access to whiteness as we possibly can. But what if that’s not where your power actually lies? This learning platform emphasizes the unique spiritual strength of Black people, especially Black women and our natural connection to the spiritual.
TRUE LIBERATION & FREEDOM
Whiteness and capitalism continue to exploit Black energies and perpetuate economic and social disenfranchisement. Reclaiming personal and collective energies requires us to create spaces of abundance rather than scarcity – enabling us to create and navigate life on our terms without reliance or structures that stifle us.
What are the benefits of decolonizing spirituality?
I'm glad you asked!
Escape the Matrix
and get out of this unnatural system. Most of us know and feel that something isn't right about how we're living. We'll never know what it's like to be completely free if we don't free ourselves mentally.
Cultivate Your Love
Many of us walk around in an emotional rut looking for something we think is outside of us! Understand what love is to align yourself for things to naturally flow to you.
Get Clarity
There's so many variations interpretations of spirituality. Tap into your higher self and figure out what's meant for YOU and your path.
We Deserve to be Free
Most of us have adapted our spirituality from systems meant to keep us in low positions. Freeing ourselves from colonial mentalities means raising our vibrations collectively.
Stop Living in Anxiety and Fear
It's time to regulate that nervous system babes! Strengthening your mind and your energy makes you less vulnerable to absorbing dysfunctional energies and understand what creates them!
Heal Your Ancestral Lineage
The Black Experience has been volatile and painful for CENTURIES. We have to decide that will no longer be our story and put our energy back into ourselves! Your people didn't deserve and neither do you.

The Divine Feminine: What Is It?
The divine feminine represents the nurturing, intuitive, and creative energy that resides within all of us. It’s the yin to the yang, the moon to the sun. Historically, women have been the keepers of this sacred energy, embodying wisdom, compassion, and strength. In many African cultures, the divine feminine is celebrated and revered through powerful deities and traditions.
The Role of Water in African and Black Cultures
Water has always been a sacred element in African and Black cultures. It symbolizes life, fertility, and purification. African goddesses like Yemaya, the Yoruba deity of the sea, and Oshun, the goddess of fresh waters, represent the nurturing and life-giving aspects of water. These goddesses remind us of our deep connection to water and its importance in our spiritual and physical lives.
In many African traditions, water is used in rituals to cleanse and heal. Whether it’s through river ceremonies, libations, or the simple act of bathing, water holds a transformative power that helps us reconnect with our divine feminine energy.
The New Era of the Feminine
We’re entering a new era where the divine feminine is rising, reclaiming its rightful place in the world. This era is about balance, intuition, and nurturing our inner selves. It’s a beautiful wave, a return to our roots, and a reconnection with the rich, vibrant tapestry of our ancestral heritage. A Historical Snapshot: Our Spiritual Heritage
Before the transatlantic slave trade and colonialism disrupted our cultures, our ancestors practiced diverse and deeply rooted spiritual traditions. From the Yoruba religion in Nigeria, Vodun in Benin and Togo, to the spiritual practices of the Akan in Ghana, these religions were integral to daily life. They offered guidance, fostered community, and maintained a harmonious relationship with nature.
Colonial powers, however, labeled these practices as “pagan” or “primitive,” forcing our ancestors to abandon their spiritual heritage in favor of Christianity and Islam. Despite this, many traditions survived, hidden in plain sight, blended with new beliefs, and passed down through generations.
The Power of Ancestral Gifts
Tapping into our ancestral gifts isn’t just about spirituality; it’s about reclaiming our identity, culture, and power. Here’s why it’s so important:
- Reclaiming Our Roots: Understanding and practicing ATRs allows us to reclaim a part of our history that was systematically erased. It’s an act of resistance against centuries of cultural erasure and a step towards healing historical wounds.
- Community and Connection: ATRs are inherently communal. They emphasize the importance of community, kinship, and interconnectedness. In a world where we often feel isolated, these practices remind us that we are never alone; we are part of a larger, supportive network.
- Personal Empowerment: Engaging with our ancestral practices empowers us to take control of our spiritual journeys. It offers a sense of belonging and purpose, grounding us in traditions that have stood the test of time.
- Healing and Balance: Many ATRs focus on harmony with nature and the spiritual world. Practices like divination, herbal medicine, and rituals help us restore balance, promote healing, and enhance our well-being.
- Cultural Pride: Embracing ATRs instills a sense of pride in our heritage. It reminds us of the wisdom and resilience of our ancestors, fostering a deeper appreciation for our culture and traditions.
How to Start Your Journey
- Research and Learn: Start by reading books, watching documentaries, and engaging with practitioners who are knowledgeable about ATRs. Learn about the different traditions and find one that resonates with you.
- Connect with the Community: Join online forums, attend local gatherings, or participate in workshops. Building connections with others on this journey can provide support and deepen your understanding.
- Incorporate Practices: Begin incorporating small rituals into your daily life. This could be as simple as creating an ancestor altar, practicing meditation, or learning about the herbs and plants used in traditional healing.
- Seek Guidance: If possible, find a mentor or elder who can guide you. Their experience and wisdom can be invaluable as you navigate this path.
- Stay Open and Respectful: Approach these practices with an open heart and mind. Respect the traditions, and remember that this journey is deeply personal and unique to each individual.
Conclusion: A Call to Reconnect
The resurgence of African Traditional Religions and spiritual practices is more than just a movement; it’s a call to reconnect with our roots, honor our ancestors, and reclaim our spiritual heritage. By tapping into our ancestral gifts, we not only enrich our lives but also contribute to the preservation and celebration of our rich cultural legacy.

The Spiritual Roots of Resistance
Our ancestors didn’t just endure—they fought back with a fierce spirit that was deeply rooted in their spiritual beliefs. Enslaved Africans brought with them rich spiritual traditions, including practices from Yoruba, Vodou, Obeah, and other African Traditional Religions. These practices weren’t just about worship; they were about survival, resistance, and community.
Yoruba and Vodou: In Haiti, the Vodou religion played a crucial role in the Haitian Revolution (1791-1804). Leaders like Dutty Boukman and Cécile Fatiman called upon the spirits (lwa) for guidance and strength. The famous Bois Caïman ceremony, a Vodou ritual, is often credited with igniting the revolution that ultimately led to Haiti becoming the first free Black republic.
Obeah and Myal: In Jamaica, Obeah and Myalism were central to many rebellions. The 1760 Tacky’s War saw enslaved Africans, led by a Coromantee chief named Tacky, using Obeah to instill fear and courage. Obeah men and women were spiritual leaders who provided protection, healing, and strategic guidance.
Spirituality as a Tool for Unity and Strategy
Ancestral spirituality was and is more than rituals; it was a powerful tool for uniting people and strategizing rebellions. The shared spiritual practices helped create a sense of solidarity among the enslaved, transcending tribal and ethnic differences. This unity was crucial for organizing large-scale revolts.
Nat Turner’s Rebellion: In 1831, Nat Turner, a deeply spiritual man who believed he was chosen by God to lead his people to freedom, led one of the most famous slave revolts in the United States. Turner’s visions and spiritual experiences guided his actions, demonstrating how ancestral spirituality could inspire and direct resistance.
Maroons of the Caribbean: The Maroons, escaped enslaved Africans who formed independent communities, often relied on ancestral spirituality for protection and guidance. In Suriname, the Maroons’ Ndyuka religion combined African beliefs with elements of Christianity to form a unique spiritual foundation that supported their autonomy and resistance against colonizers.
Ancestral Spirits and the Fight for Freedom
The belief in ancestral spirits played a vital role in these rebellions. Ancestors were seen as protectors and guides, offering wisdom and strength. This connection to the spiritual realm provided a sense of hope and resilience.
Queen Nanny of the Maroons: A legendary figure in Jamaica, Queen Nanny is revered as a spiritual leader and warrior. She was believed to have supernatural powers granted by her ancestors, which she used to lead her people in successful resistance against the British.
The Legacy Lives On
Today, we honor our ancestors by reconnecting with their spiritual practices and acknowledging their role in our history. Their resilience, courage, and unwavering faith in the face of unimaginable hardship remind us of the power of spirituality in the fight for justice and freedom.
As you reconnect with your own ancestors, remember the strength that flows through your veins from those who came before you. Our ancestors’ spirits are always with us, guiding and protecting us as we continue their legacy of resistance and resilience.
